Data on the Home page are from the CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, with the sources: NEISS All Injury Program (injury); and National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), National Vital Statistics System (fatalities).

Each year data are presented in two very useful graphics, 10 Leading Causes of Nonfatal Emergency Department Visits, United States and 10 Leading Causes of Injury Deaths by Age Group Highlighting Unintentional Injury Deaths, United States.

An excellent resource that describes physiology of the human body involved in aerobics and also addresses the inactivity problem is called “Lack of exercise is a major cause of chronic disease,” by Booth, and colleagues.
